Feng Shui and Fountains

The theory of Feng Shui originated in ancient

China. According to this science, people in a room are affected by the way things are placed in it. The word ‘Feng’ means ‘wind’ and ‘Shui’ means ‘water’. So arranging wind and water in a particular way inside a room can have a positive impact on the people who live or work in that room. Feng Shui believes in the perfect balance between the 5 elements namely the water, earth, fire, wood and metal. It is the perfect harmony of these elements that leads to a peaceful and productive existence.

There is a deep relationship between Feng Shui and fountains. In ancient

China and also in other parts of the world, water was the sign of prosperity and abundance. Indoor fountains provide a way for water to flow within the room and that in a very stylish way. The rippling effect of a waterfall or a stream not only looks good, but it is also healthy as the production of negative ions can ground the polluting elements such as dust. Indoor fountains can also add to the humidity which is good in certain environments.

Fountains are preferred in Feng Shui because water brings in positive energy. But the relationship between Feng Shui and fountains will be determined by Bagua map. This is a map that will determine how the various elements are affecting the life of the person who stays or works in the room. Based on the findings it will be decided which corner of the room is best for placing the fountain.

For example fire is related to reputation and fame and the southern area of the room is best for it. So placing a fountain (which is represented by water) in the southern part may not be beneficial. Actually this will work against the individual because water and fire are exactly opposite. The theory of Feng Shui and water features also say that placing fountains in the bedroom may not be a good idea.

The theory of Feng Shui believes that water in a fountain should be slow moving, because slow moving water aids the accumulation of ‘chi’. Fountains should be placed on the left side of the front door, and the best places are the southwest, the southeast, the east and the north corner of a room.

So if you believe in Feng Shui place your fountains in these corners and your wealth and fortune is sure to be on the rise.

Beautiful Wall Fountains Can Enhance Your Corporate Setting

If you are looking for that perfect touch to enhance your corporate setting with, perhaps you should look towards wall fountains.  Wall fountains are some of the most decorative pieces that you can add to a corporate or office setting, plus they promote stress reduction and health.

When most people think of wall fountains in corporate settings they think of huge, large monsters that take up a whole wall and this is not necessarily the case.  You can order wall fountains in a number of different forms and shapes and sizes.  They can fit nicely behind reception desks and even in conference rooms.  Some wall fountains can even double as whiteboards!  These are perfect for meeting rooms while also bringing in a little of the outdoors into the room to promote stress reduction.

Custom wall fountains can even have logos and brand names sandblasted into them.  These fountains provide a unique way to promote your business and your brand.  Plus, they add an extra touch of professionalism and elegance that you can’t find just anywhere.  These are perfect for conference rooms where you meet with outside clients as well as in lobbies and reception areas. These fountains look great in just about any corporate environment, even restrooms!

Wall fountains in your corporate offices have more benefits than just the unique style that they bring.  These fountains add much needed humidity to the air and reduce pollutants and other negative substances that float around in the air, especially in big cities. Many people who work near these fountains in offices have noted the good effect that these fountains have added to their work environment and have even placed them in their own homes.

These wall fountains are also very easy to take care of.  Your janitorial staff should only have to add water to them every few days due to evaporation.  These fountains recirculate the water over and over so they do not require a constant water supply as no water is being expelled other than in evaporation.  You may even decide to add indoor water features throughout your office setting to promote a more peaceful work environment for your employees and for yourself.  You will definitely feel the effects of the wall fountain in just a few days, possibly even in hours.  You may even decide to add one to your own office.
